Hydro Ottawa has been reported as having unsafe work conditions by Ontario Ministry of Labour. With the highest number of employee grievances among organizations represented by IBEW in Ontario, Hydro Ottawa consistently refuses to meet with IBEW Local 636 since May 25th, 2023.
IBEW LOCAL 636 DEMANDS:
• Update paramedical and health benefits ensuring that workers can perform at their best physically and mentally, especially those who work outdoors.
• Fair Compensation- Over the years, Hydro has unjustly frozen wages and actively worked to suppress fair compensation for its employees, disregarding equal pay for equal work.
