American Jews Call on the Biden Administration to De-Escalate Violence
We invite American Jews to sign onto this public letter to the Biden Administration demanding a diplomatic rather than military response to the escalating war in Gaza. 

If/once we reach 10,000 signatures, we will publish it online. If someone donates the funding, we will publish it in a reputable newspaper. Please indicate below if you are able to do this (we are not organizing a fundraising effort; a single or self-organized group of donors will be required).

The text of the letter is as follows: 

American Jews Call on the Biden Administration to De-Escalate Violence 

The Jewish community is in pain. We are grieving for those killed, and praying for the safety of those kidnapped or living in fear, in Israel and in Gaza. We are speaking out today because we do not believe the safety of Israelis can be realized through the pain and death of Palestinians. 

Guided by the Jewish teaching that nearly any Jewish law or ritual may be violated in service of saving a life, we call on the Biden administration to do everything in its power to de-escalate the intensifying war and prevent the further loss of life. 

Unlimited support for warfare in the region will only mean more death. The only way forward is through a diplomatic solution, not a military one. We call on the Biden administration to facilitate diplomatic efforts to return Israeli hostages, end the bombing of Gaza and prevent the loss of more lives.
