CAMPAIGN SCHOOL FOR 2024 ORGANIZING EFFORTS - WISCONSIN
The DNC is hosting a Wisconsin Campaign School! This paid opportunity will identify and train people who are interested in learning what it’s like to organize and work directly on a campaign. Joining the Wisconsin Campaign School will expand potential opportunities for campaign roles in targeted states to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2024. Ideal candidates are looking to work as a Field Organizer in the 2024 coordinated campaign in Wisconsin.
This campaign school will be held on October 28 in-person in Milwaukee. Participation is a non-employment opportunity and does not guarantee future employment by a State Party or campaign. Applications close October 23. The stipend for attending the one day training is $135
What you’ll do:
- Learn the best tactics for recruiting, engaging, and mobilizing Democrats in meaningful voter outreach through community and relational organizing;
- Learn how to empower volunteers to host their own events, build relationships and grow contact lists with in-state voters, and conduct voter contact;
- Develop skills to build volunteer teams, including making high-quality volunteer asks and telling your story;
- Review guidelines for regular check-ins with volunteer organizing leadership to ensure your team is on track to meet its goals across various priorities, and effectively communicate to in state campaign staff;
- Discuss best practices to communicate with volunteer leadership and stakeholders to create and improve programming;
- Learn how to coordinate with volunteers to define short-term and long-term priorities;
The ideal candidate to attend our campaign school has one or more of the following:
- Has a deep commitment and love for their community and genuinely wants to make it a better place
- Is interested in politics and learning more about the 2024 presidential election
- Wants to learn about personal storytelling, hosting an effective one on one conversation, and how to connect with people in your community
- Wants to learn or grow skills around how to collaborate and communicate with volunteers, community stakeholders, leadership, and fellow campaign staff
- Is enthusiastic, creative, resourceful, and goal-driven
- Understands the critical role volunteers play within a campaign structure
- Transportation or the ability to travel locally might be required (Please note that field organizer roles are in-person and remote work is not an option.)
