Have you been to see Oppenheimer, and come out of the cinema wanting to do something to end nuclear weapons for good?

This year where the hands of the Doomsday Clock stand at 90 seconds to midnight – the closest we have ever been to the global catastrophe of nuclear war. And nuclear powers are continuing to modernise their nuclear arsenals, so the film comes at an important time to make us truly reflect on the horror of this weapon.

Oppenheimer tells the story of how the atomic bomb was made, and portrays the doubt of many of the scientists who worked on their development. Today there are 13,000 nuclear weapons in the world, and nuclear war threatens humanity and the planet itself.

So what can we do?

We must put pressure on our government, and the leaders of other nuclear-armed states, to take active steps towards nuclear disarmament. CND has been campaigning for a world without nuclear weapons since 1958 and we will continue until we have got rid of these weapons of mass destruction. Join us!
