Roanoke Mobilization Meeting for June 18th
***Saturday, May 21, 1:30pm***
Loudon Avenue Christian Church
730 Loudon Ave
Roanoke, VA 24016
We Assemble and March on June 18, 2022 because any nation that ignores nearly half of its citizens is in a moral, economic and political crisis. There were 140 million people who were poor or one emergency away from economic ruin before the pandemic. Since March 2020, while hundreds of thousands of people have died, millions are on the edge of hunger and eviction, and still without health care or living wages, billionaire wealth has grown by over $2 trillion. People all across Roanoke are mobilizing to June 18 because we won't be silent anymore!
All impacted leaders, moral advocates, partner organizations, congregations - everyone committed Poor People's Campaign - is invited to join us for a mobilizing meeting to build a strong delegation of people from Roanoke to travel to DC on June 18. Come grab flyers, yard signs, posters, sign up for bus seats, and connect with other organizers across the city as we prepare for June 18!
We'll have a brief meeting and light snacks from 1:30-2:30pm, and then spend some time flyering and canvassing to spread the word and invite others to join us.
