No Oil Tunnel

Right now, we have an opportunity to call on officials to protect the Bay Mills Indian Community, other Tribes and residents of Michigan. We are standing together to defend the Great Lakes, their natural and cultural resources.

Despite the fact that Line 5 is failing and operating illegally, Canadian company Enbridge has proposed moving this oil pipeline into a tunnel deep under the Straits of Mackinac — a “solution” which carries a high risk of explosion, further pollution and climate disruption, at a time when we must focus on protecting water and transitioning swiftly to safe, renewable energy.

Submit your comment today — call on officials to deny the oil tunnel permit. Please take a moment to personalize this letter before sending — let them know why this is important to you in the 1st paragraph, so they will count your comment!

As Bay Mills Indian Community President Whitney Gravelle explains, “the Straits of Mackinac are a precious and culturally sacred part of our ecosystem that should not be jeopardized in the name of corporate greed.”
