Pass H.4784 to Save MA Forests!

Thanks in part to your letters, several forest-protection bills (S557, S558, S561, S562, H856, H912 and H1002) were bundled together, revised as H.4784, and favorably reported out of the MA legislature’s Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture (ENRA). H.4784 is now before the House Ways and Means Committee.

H.4784 accomplishes many, though not all, of the goals that forest protectors have been fighting for. Most importantly, the revised and bundled bill mandates

●     a public review of forest “management” every five years with reporting to the state legislature

●     and a moratorium on forest “management” activity–no cutting!–potentially until June 30, 2023.

Take a minute to protect forests in Massachusetts and help fight climate change!
