ICE Out Of Arlington! Join us at Arlington County Board Meeting

Start: Saturday, June 18, 2022 8:30 AM

The Migrant Justice Working Group and the Defund NoVA Police Working Group have an ICE out of Arlington action in Arlington this Saturday, 18 June, at 8:30 am, led by our Defund NoVA PD coalition partner La ColectiVA. We need people to show up to the Arlington County Board Meeting in the County Board Meeting Room at the Bozman Government Center, 2100 Clarendon Blvd. Ste. #307, 22201, at 8:30 am to show community support for the Communities of Arlington Protected from Abuse by ICE (CAPA) policy proposal (read more about CAPA here!: https://lacolectiva.org/iceoutofarlington).

Arlington County government needs to take active measures to protect the community and prevent their police department from actively collaborating with ICE, but the Board is proving themselves to be reluctant to act. Let's show them that the community is behind CAPA! Even if you aren't ready to take the mic yourself, you can still make a sign and sit with us in the audience! You don't need to live in Arlington join us. If you're from Arlington and want to make public comments, please let us know!

You're welcome to create and bring a sign but we'll have extras. It doesn't have to be big and can say "NO ICE" or "ICE Out of Arlington" or "CAPA NOW!"
If you have questions, please drop in to our Slack channels.

Please RSVP so we can coordinate all of us leading up to this Saturday. You can join us afterward for coffee/tea and snacks from the deli in that plaza and can eat in that outdoor courtyard.

You must be vaxxed+boosted to participate in any NoVa DSA in-person events.
