It's not up to Starbucks executives & management to decide whether workers can join a union -- that decision is for workers to make by and for themselves free of corporate union-busting tactics. Yes, our labor laws are in need of drastic reform, but RIGHT NOW we must demand that Starbucks not interfere in workers' efforts to freely organize. The ability to organize free of threats and coercion is a civil right fundamental to our country's democracy.
Starbucks workers across California and across the country have been bravely calling for dignity at work and a voice on the job. That's why we're calling on Starbucks to immediately end their union-busting crusade, commit to advancing racial justice through their business and labor practices and stop interfering with free and fair union elections.
