DC 37/CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) Labor Certificate & Degree Programs
Members of locals 371, 95, 205, 215, 253 and 389 are not eligible to take this program

The DC 37 Education Fund, in partnership with the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU), is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for union members to advance their education—and their careers. This unique program is designed to empower the next generation of labor leaders through certificate and degree pathways at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Eligible members can receive tuition coverage for up to 4 courses (up to 16 credits where applicable), fully funded by the DC 37 Education Fund.

Eligible members may opt to participate in one of the following tracks (click on track for more information):
- Undergraduate Certificate in Labor Relations
- Bachelor of Arts in Labor Studies
- Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Community Relations
- Advanced Certificate (“AC”) in Labor Relations
- Master of Arts in Labor Studies

What Happens After You Apply?
After you apply to the program and confirm your seat, you will receive a copy of your submitted application along with follow-up information related to the track you selected.
Tuition Coverage
The Education Fund covers up to 4 courses (16 credits maximum) once per member. If a course must be repeated, it will be at your own expense—tuition reimbursement is not available for repeat courses.
After Funded Courses
Once you’ve completed your funded courses, you’ll need to explore alternative financial support for additional semesters. Contact your CUNY SLU financial advisor to learn more about available scholarships, grants, loans, or payment plans.

FOR NEW STUDENTS (Never enrolled in a DC 37/CUNY SLU program)
Complete three steps below:

Submit the DC 37 Education Fund Application
- Before applying to CUNY SLU, you must first complete the DC 37 application for your selected certificate or degree program.

Attend mandatory Information Session
- Eligible applicants will receive follow-up details for information session hosted by DC 37 and CUNY SLU.

Complete the CUNY SLU Application only after completing step 2.

Submit all required documents and pay the application fee
- $70 (Undergraduate)
- $75 (Graduate)

FOR CONTINUING STUDENTS (Previously enrolled in a DC 37/CUNY SLU certificate or degree program)
If you are returning to the program, please review the following guidelines carefully:
Re-apply to the DC 37 Education Fund:
- Before re-enrolling with CUNY SLU, you must first resubmit your application to the DC 37 Education Fund.
Withdrawing or Suspending Attendance:
- If you must pause or withdraw during your funded semester, notify the Education Fund immediately. Failure to do so may affect your future eligibility.
