American Community Survey (ACS) estimates are published for geographies based on population size. The Census Bureau releases Excel files to help users understand what geographies are available in each data release.
From 2005 through 2014, maps were created to show the counties and places, American Indian Areas (AIAs), Alaska Native village statistical areas (ANVSAs), and Alaska Native Regional Corporations (ANRCs) that received published data yearly in these datasets. These maps are no longer being created, and users are advised to refer to the detailed list of geographic areas as a text alternative. ACS 5-year data are tabulated for all counties, places, AIAs, ANVSAs and ANRCs, so no reference maps were produced. Users who would like to produce their own maps for these areas should refer to our Geography Tools page.
