SHAWN MOODY CANNOT RUN FROM HIS OWN WORDS. HE STOOD UP ON THE DEBATES STAGE AND SAID THEY WERE OVERFUNDED. OUT OF 10 CANDIDATES HE WAS THE ONLY WANT TO SAY SCHOOLS WERE OVERFUNDED. THAT FORUM HAPPEN IN JANUARY. IT WAS THE FIRST ONE OF THE ENTIRE ELECTION CYCLE THE FOUR GENERAL ELECTION GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES WILL HOLD SEVERAL DEBATES IN THE COMING WEEKS.

Two political television ads aired in Maine have drawn attention to gubernatorial candidate Shawn Moody's description of Maine schools as "overfunded."The Republican candidate said it is a case of selective editing by not playing the rest of his answer.Moody said his full answer was about streamlining services in education and being critical of what he viewed as little accountability concerning the $162M in additional education funding the legislature approved last year.A spokesperson from the Democratic Governors Association said, in part, in a statement: "Out of 10 candidates on the stage, he was the only one to say schools were 'overfunded.'"
