I strongly support the re-election of Janet Mills for governor. Due to her calm, strong leadership, my company, Auburn Manufacturing, was able to employ our 50-person workforce throughout COVID.

When COVID hit, she deemed manufacturers “essential,” assuring that we could maintain operations. We then qualified for federal loans to help us through those toughest months.

Gov. Mills was practical in facilitating vaccinations for Maine people. She sent the National Guard to the Auburn Mall, enabling 100 percent vaccination of Auburn Manufacturing’s workforce quickly and conveniently.

Recently, the governor committed funding to the Maine Community College System for workforce development. This creative approach is already helping businesses like us develop virtual training tools for new hires. Everyone I talk to in other states is envious of Maine’s program.

Janet Mills’ practical approach to governing during a pandemic convinces me she deserves to keep the job during these next four post-COVID years.
