Now that we’re winding down after the holidays and our Presents From Partners program, we have many people and unions to thank.

At Labor's Community Service Agency, we are a tiny (but formidable) staff that does everything we can to deepen our impact throughout the labor community. This is only possible because of our numerous supporters and volunteers who continue to show up and go above and beyond to fulfill the needs of working people. During Presents From Partners 2023, we were able to support 275 families (up from 200 families last year!) referred by over 40 local unions, apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeship training programs with toys, parents’/caregivers’ gifts, hand-sewn stockings, diapers, food boxes and gift cards.

Presents From Partners was so successful this year because of all of you: the PFP Planning Committee who collaborated on and envisioned the program; LIUNA 737 inviting us into their training center; the ILWU Local 8 collecting 60 bags of toys and almost 25 other unions collecting 140 additional bags; the AFT-Retirees sewing 1,000 stockings; the IBEW Credit Union team that purchased, selected and packaged stunning gifts for parents/caregivers; the United Way managing a diaper drive; the many volunteers who thoughtfully chose and delivered gifts, hauled bags, made phone calls, and much more; and the more than 40 unions and affiliates who donated. We must give special recognition to UA 290, IBEW 48, and IAM 63 for sponsoring our Fred Meyer gift cards this year and LIUNA 737 for not only donating toys but also VISA gift cards to ensure teenagers were well taken care of, their space, countless hours, and their staff to help us get toys to families across the state.

We always say it – we cannot continue to support working people without the dedication of all of you. Thank you so much for everything you did, big or small, to make this program possible.

In solidarity,

The Team at Labor’s Community Service Agency
