RSVP for 2025 People's Budget Launch [2/19 @ 11 AM]

Start: Wednesday, February 19, 202511:00 AM

Join us at the FY26 People’s Budget Campaign Launch on Wednesday, Feb 19 @ 11 AM at the steps of the Tweed building (52 Chambers St, New York, NY 10007) to fight for a People's Budget & #CareNotCuts!

Background:
  • Mayor Adams may want to pretend that his latest budget is benign, but the cumulative effects of the Mayor’s budgets have taken a toll on city services and New Yorkers. Since entering office, Eric Adams has cut more than NYC’s budget seven times. New Yorkers continue to struggle to get 3K and childcare seats, CUNY still faces huge holes in its administrative budget, impacting course load and services for students, and parks maintenance continues to decline.
  • Our People’s Budget campaign for 2025 will be aimed in fighting for restorations and investments in services and programs that help New Yorkers create *real* public safety, build affordable futures, and provide care across generations.
  • We have a different vision than Mayor Adams --- a people's budget that offers care, dignity, and justice for all NYers (not cuts or criminalization). At the People's Budget Launch, we’ll highlight some of our core demands for a people’s budget and mark the beginning of a five month public campaign to push the Mayor and the City Council to deliver a better budget for all, including funding for public schools, 3K, CUNY, safety programs, and other essential and social services.

Holding Eric Adams Accountable for Serving Rich Donors & Donald Trump, Not NYC

The Department of Justice's recent decision to drop corruption charges against Mayor Adams has sparked allegations of political interference, while top officials flee his crumbling administration. His growing allegiance to Trump—who seeks to deport New Yorkers and cut federal funds to the city—raise serious concerns. Adams has gutted essential services, faced pay-to-play corruption scrutiny, and put wealthy donors and political interests over NYC residents. In addition to our budget demands, we will demand Governor Hochul and city leaders take a stand against Adams’ harmful, compromised agenda and act — Eric Adams must resign or be removed from office.
