Unquiet Impact Distribution Lab.

An intensive lab for three films in the lead up to their 2025 release.

Supported by Screenrights Unquiet invites three film teams with a focus on social impact to participate in our first ever impact distribution lab

We are inviting three teams with films that will be close to completion - that plan to be released in 2025 - to apply to participate in the Unquiet Distribution Lab. We are primarily considering documentary projects, however if you have a different kind of screen project please get in touch to discuss the possibility of participating.

Applications are now closed.

Decisions will be made as quickly as possible and applicants notified by the end of May 2024. Two external reviewers will work with Unquiet Collective to review applications and select participants.

The lab will include a one on one session with Unquiet and three group sessions with all three film teams between July - November 2024.

Participating teams will be paid a stipend of $4000 per team.

In addition to the workshops film teams will be equipped with a non-theatrical release toolkit which will include partnership MOUs, non theatrical license agreements, non theatrical booking forms, screening guide templates and more to set them up to reach wide audiences with their films.

The lab will cover;

  • Development of an impact strategy

  • Sector and social movement mapping and partnership development

  • Distribution strategies

  • Non theatrical tools and strategies

  • Contract & budget advice

  • Fundraising, PR, marketing and theatrical release advice

  • Relationships with other filmmakers

  • Other topics which arise in one on one calls tailored to each film team's need
