The Supreme Court stands as the only one of the three federal branches without a formal code of conduct. The behavior of its justices is primarily self-regulated, a situation that has clearly proven inadequate.
Over the past year alone, the Court has passed judgments on critical issues such as student loan forgiveness, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and abortion. When making decisions of such significant societal impact, it is crucial for justices to adhere strictly to an ethics code that assures the public of their impartiality and incorruptibility.
