Louisiana is on the frontlines of a rising environmental crisis. Plans by powerful corporate interests to install more "liquefied natural gas" (LNG) facilities would be catastrophic, not just for the environment, but for vulnerable communities.
To put it into perspective, a single proposed LNG terminal would emit greenhouse gases at a rate 20 times greater than the Willow oil drilling project in Alaska.
Yet, despite the glaring evidence and the inherent risks, expansion plans are being driven forward, with most facilities being placed in the heart of marginalized communities of color. We must fight for a future that prioritizes our planet and our communities over corporate profits.
