The Green New Deal will mobilize the economy over the next ten years to address climate change through investments in clean energy and creating millions of new, high-paying jobs.

The bill takes a multi-pronged approach to transform our economy over the next ten years, taking care to ensure that the benefits will be shared across all segments of society, not just concentrated among wealthy investors. Highlights include:

100% Clean Energy: 100% clean, renewable energy sources over the next ten years

Infrastructure: Major upgrades to the energy grid, expanding public transportation, and making buildings more energy-efficient

Jobs and Economic Growth: High paying union jobs will be created in such sectors as construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy, with a focus on providing opportunities in historically marginalized communities.

Social Justice: Low income, minority, and Indigenous communities will share in the opportunities and the benefits of the transition to clean energy.

Sustainable Agriculture: The promulgation of soil health is a benefit of the Green New Deal.

Research and Development: Substantial investment in research and development will help create new technologies to make further improvements possible.
