Rep. Cori Bush is an environmental justice leader in Congress. Cori successfully secured a federal environmental review of Coldwater Creek, a radioactive waste site in her district. She also introduced the Justice for Jana Elementary Act of 2023, following a recent report that found unsafe levels of radioactive waste in and around an elementary school in her district. 


Cori has also pushed for investments in frontline marginalized communities across the country with her bill, the Environmental Justice Mapping and Data Collection Act, which was signed into law.


She has secured hundreds of millions of dollars for public transportation infrastructure in her district and around the country, and millions more for federal climate action. She’s also introduced visionary legislation like the Green New Deal for Cities to fund an array of community-based climate and environmental justice jobs and projects.
